Welcome to Infoindustria.org...

... home of some free extensions for Joomla developed by the short but enthusiastic team behind the programming company Infoindustria.com (*). Hope they can be useful for somebody.

(*) So short it´s just me!. I am a freelance programmer specialized in consulting and developing for web (and lately Joomla, too). Although I am not the guy in the upper right pic, I was born not very far from the place where the photo was taken, in Argamasilla de Calatrava, La Mancha (yes, "La Mancha" of Don Quixote), Spain.

UserImages extension PDF E-mail

Joomla provides a very efficient functionality for users to submit content. 'Author' level users can edit their articles text and insert images or some other types of media.

But what if your site has a lot of articles and authors? Then it´s not unusual to find a huge number of image files and directories, what makes file management difficult for the less experienced. Besides, you probably just don´t want your users to be able to embed, or even list, other authors´ files.

UserImages is a very simple (for now) Joomla extension whose purpose is to fix that potential problem. If you install the component and plugin, your users will not further be able to see any other media files apart from their own ones.

How to use Userimages plugin PDF Print E-mail

Userimages extension is a system plugin. It only works for Joomla! 1.5+.

 How to use:

  1. Download 'Userimages' plugin file from download section
  2. Install and enable it in your site

How it works:

When an user press 'submit article" she/he obtains article submission form. After installing extension, if pressed "image" button the result is:

- if user is 'Super Administrator' she obtains 'images/stories' listing (or whichever 'image_path' directory has been configured)

- if Author level user is not an administrator, and supposed, for example, her user id is '127', she obtains 'images/stories/users/127' listing. Supposed "Base directory' for 'userimages' extension is 'users'. You can change that). If directory doesn´t exist it is created. So authors can only list and embed images from their own directory.
